light up.

- Your kitchen
Before we start
Your worktops, cupboards and sockets are in. This is the wall we’re going to cover with toughened backlit glass.
- Before we visit
We mark up your space
From your photo or kitchen plan, we mark up every piece of glass, panel by panel, with each socket and cut-out, and price it in your quote.
This marked-up plan is exactly what we come to measure.
- On the day · 1
We measure what we marked up
We template every panel with a Prodim Proliner. Its probe touches every edge, corner, socket and cut-out, and the machine records them to the millimetre.
- On the day · 2
We confirm it with you
Before we leave, we agree together where each piece goes, where it starts and ends, how high it goes (up to the cupboards, or up to the hood) and what it covers, including every socket cut-out.
- On the day · 3
Sockets and the tap
Sockets and the tap may need to be removed for fitting. We’ll let you know when we measure.

- Fitting day · 1
LED sheet fitted first
We fit a slim LED light sheet to the wall where the glass will sit, and test it before any glass goes up.
- Fitting day · 2
Glass fitted in front, level
The glass goes on in front of the LED sheet, level and lined up with every socket cut-out. There’s no silicone or adhesive on the back, so the light shines through evenly.
- Fitting day · 3
Sealed to the worktop
We run a neat bead of sealant along the joint between the glass and the worktop, keeping water and crumbs out.
- Fitting day · 4 · if needed
Sealed to the cupboards and hood
Where the glass meets a wall cupboard or the hood, we seal between them too.
- Fitting day · 5
Trim on the sides
We finish both ends with a neat trim. It holds the edge of the glass and hides the LED sheet behind it.
- Before we leave
Light on, and a final check
We switch the lighting on and go over the finished job with you. Try the switch on the picture to see it with the light on and off.
That’s it. Your new toughened backlit glass splashback is fitted.

Questions
What exactly do you measure?
Everything we marked up in your quote: each panel, every edge and corner, and every socket and cut-out. On the day we confirm with you where the glass goes and what it covers.
Will my price change after you measure?
No, as long as the job matches the marked-up photo in your quote. If we find something different, such as different sizes, extra cut-outs or another wall, we’ll send you a revised quote before anything is made.
How is backlit glass fixed?
The LED sheet is fitted to the wall first. The glass then goes on in front of it, held in place with a neat trim on the sides. There’s no silicone or adhesive on the back of the glass, so the light shines through evenly.
Do you seal the edges?
We seal the front joints between the glass and the worktop, and the cupboards or hood where needed. The ends are finished with a neat trim that holds the glass and hides the LED sheet.
How long does fitting take?
Usually about half a day. We’ll give you a time when we book your fitting date.
