Job done
  1. Your kitchen

    Before we start

Your worktops, cupboards and sockets are in. This is the wall we’re going to cover with toughened glass.

  2. Before we visit

    We mark up your space

From your photo or kitchen plan, we mark up every piece of glass, panel by panel, with each socket and cut-out, and price it in your quote.

This marked-up plan is exactly what we come to measure.

  3. On the day · 1

We measure what we marked up

We template every panel with a Prodim Proliner. Its probe touches every edge, corner, socket and cut-out, and the machine records them to the millimetre.

  4. On the day · 2

    We confirm it with you

Before we leave, we agree together where each piece goes, where it starts and ends, how high it goes (up to the cupboards, or up to the hood) and what it covers, including every socket cut-out.

  5. On the day · 3

    Sockets and the tap

Sockets and the tap may need to be removed for fitting. We’ll let you know when we measure.

£75 + VAT measuring fee, taken off your total when you go ahead

  6. Fitting day · 1

    Special adhesive, with the gun

We apply a special adhesive to the back of each panel with the gun. It bonds the glass to the wall, and nothing shows from the front.

  7. Fitting day · 2

    Fitted in place, level

We fit each panel in place, level, lined up with the next panel and every socket cut-out.

  8. Fitting day · 3

    Sealed to the worktop

We run a neat bead of sealant along the joint between the glass and the worktop, keeping water and crumbs out.

  9. Fitting day · 4 · if needed

Sealed to the cupboards and hood

Where the glass meets a wall cupboard or the hood, we seal between them too.

  10. On request

Filled and sealed to the wall

If you’d like, we fill and seal the gap between the glass and the wall at both ends of the run, and anywhere the wall isn’t straight.

  11. Before we leave

    A final check with you

We go over the finished job with you. If anything isn’t right, tell us straight away and we’ll put it right.

That’s it. Your new toughened glass splashback is fitted.

Questions

What exactly do you measure?

Everything we marked up in your quote: each panel, every edge and corner, and every socket and cut-out. On the day we confirm with you where the glass goes and what it covers.

Will my price change after you measure?

No, as long as the job matches the marked-up photo in your quote. If we find something different, such as different sizes, extra cut-outs or another wall, we’ll send you a revised quote before anything is made.

How is the glass fixed to the wall?

With a special adhesive applied to the back of each panel. Nothing shows from the front.

Do you seal the edges?

Yes. We always seal between the glass and the worktop, and between the glass and any cupboard where needed. On request, we also fill and seal between the glass and the wall.

How long does fitting take?

Usually about half a day. We’ll give you a time when we book your fitting date.

Send us a photo of your wall.

We’ll mark it up panel by panel and send you a free quote.
