How to Clean and Care for Your Glass Splashback

Clean veined mirror splashback in a kitchen

One of the best things about a glass splashback is how easy it is to keep clean. There is no grout to scrub and nothing for grease to soak into. A few simple habits will keep it looking like new.

Everyday cleaning

  1. Wipe away splashes while they are fresh, using a soft, damp cloth.
  2. For grease, use warm water with a little washing-up liquid.
  3. Dry and buff with a clean microfibre cloth to avoid streaks.

For a streak-free shine

A gentle glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth will give a polished finish. Work in straight lines rather than circles, and buff dry.

What to avoid

  • Abrasive pads, scourers or wire wool
  • Scouring powders and gritty creams
  • Scrapers or sharp tools on the surface

These can dull or scratch the surface over time.

Printed and coloured glass

On printed and coloured splashbacks, the design sits on the back of the glass, so you only ever clean the smooth front surface. The print itself is protected.

Mirror and antique mirror

Mirror finishes show smears more easily, so a final buff with a dry microfibre cloth makes all the difference. Our antique mirror is moisture resistant and designed to clean effortlessly while keeping its antique character.

Around sockets and edges

Turn off sockets before cleaning around them, and avoid spraying liquid directly onto sockets or switches. Spray onto the cloth instead.

Built to last

With a little care, your splashback will look great for years. Every panel we make is toughened safety glass with a 25-year warranty against cracking.
